IAAP Congress 2016 in Kyoto

The next IAAP Congress will be held in Kyoto from the 29th of August to 2nd of September 2016. I would like to share with you the general feature of the program. The final program and registration fee should be approved by the Executive Committee next February in Zurich. But it would be good to let you know the attractive scientific and cultural program to encourage you more to come to Kyoto.

1. Theme and plenaries: The Congress theme is “Anima Mundi in transition: Cultural, Clinical and Professional Challenges” for which the main visual is chosen from the ten ox-herding pictures. This theme was chosen to explore our relationship to nature in the West and East as well as our clinical and professional difficulties in the changing world. The opening plenary will be held by Japanese Tibetan Buddhism scholar and ethnologist Shinichi Nakazawa with the title “The Hua Yen philosophy and its implication for modern psychology and science”. This will be followed by a panel organized by Joe Cambray with the title «The Emergence of the Ecological Mind in Hua-Yen/Kegon Buddhism and Jungian Psychology”.

Other plenary speakers are: Warren Colman (UK, SAP), Henry Abramovitch (Israel, IIJP) and Jan Wiener (SAP), Luigi Zoja (Italy, CIPA), August Cwik, (USA, CSJA), Heyong Shen (China,IM), Youkyeng Lee (Korea, KAJA, AGAP) and Sonoko Toyoda (Japan, AJAJ), Ingrid Riedel (Switzerland, SGAP) and Aurea Alfonso Caetano (Braizil, SBrPA). The themes are 1. Dialogue of Western and Eastern spirituality, 2. Therapy, Training and cultural differences, 3. Collective psyche in the modern world.
